About

I have been practising yoga for 17 years and qualified through the British Wheel of Yoga as a yoga teacher in 2011. I became interested in yoga following the birth of my first child when I took a career break from teaching to be a stay-at-home mum. Such a life-changing event helped me to focus on what really are the more important things in life. One aim of every parent is to equip their child with values, skills and abilities which will guide them through their whole life. Although my previous career giving students a good foundation in secondary school science was important, I started to want to teach something more lasting which would help a wider audience. Yoga certainly fits the bill for me.

The aim of my classes is to make yoga as accessible as possible, to help anyone practise yoga safely, to encourage people to develop a better awareness of their bodies and, above all, to enjoy themselves.

In addition to my general classes, I have worked in the NHS teaching people with severe mental health problems, eg schizophrenia, OCD. I have also delivered yoga taster sessions at my local hospital to people suffering from chronic pain. I am happy to visit groups or organisations to offer taster sessions and have worked with a diverse group of organisations already including Girlguiding, St John Ambulance and University of Chichester, among others shown below.
